Page 29 EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone. NordicTrack does have some good models in its line up, but the A2105 treadmill isn’t one of them. Let's take a closer look at this machine to see what it's all about. It can even generate stats for up to two users compiling daily, weekly, monthly and yearly results. Now that’s something you’ve never seen before in a budget treadmill. Here are the most important specs. You can check out the latest NordicTrack treadmills on the company site to see the new machines on sale. The closest current offering is the C700, which is the entry level model in the series. This one is a big step up from the A2105, with a stronger motor, more built in workout programs and a much stronger warranty.a high improvement. You can read our expert reviews to find out more about the NordicTrack brand in general and all of the latest models. We break down the entire series for you to help you choose the ideal one for your home gym. One of the strongest features of the NordicTrack A2105 treadmill is the cushioning on the deck. It's amazingly comfortable to walk on - though experts agree that users shouldn’t consider doing more than just walking on the machine; it’s not much of a runner’s treadmill. The rest of the NordicTrack A2105 is not as mechanically sound, and its weakest areas are in reliability and overall quality. If things do break, that’s when the headache begins. Many industry insiders will often note that NordicTracks are notoriously more expensive to repair than other treadmill brands made by Icon Fitness.

Small users can be well satisfied with the performance of this machine. As with many budget models, they can work flawlessly for many years if the user is of average weight and height, or tends not to pound on it with regular intense workouts. This NordicTrack A2105 falls in that category. This has been said over and over again, but heavier users and runners must purchase a better quality treadmill or you’re wasting your money. It has a ton of nice features and graphics, it’s loaded with bells and whistles, but the quality just isn’t there. For our money, we’d go with the company's C Series models (C700 or C990) with their bigger motor and outstanding warranty. You get more for your money compared to the NordicTrack A2105 treadmill. Editor's Note: As the A2105 is no longer being sold, definitely look at the newer models in Nordictrack's lineup. They have some great sales going on so you can save a good deal of money on a newer, more advanced treadmill. And when you’re not ex- ercising, the unique A2105 treadmill can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other tread- mills.
